Meeting was called to order by at
Members present: Shannon Amiotte, Dawn Frank, Crystal Paulson, Richard Red Elk, and Andy Thompson (via pictel in Kyle), and Scott Palumbo and Verine White (via pictel in He Sapa).
Supplementary Questions (1:17-2:02):
Shannon proposed that a separate question be developed to refer explicitly to Cultural Content, and the group agreed to draft a fourth question which read, “The instructor includes activities, assignments, readings, or learning outcomes which encourage or emphasize Lakota ideas, values, and beliefs.” Dawn suggested we add “and community” to the end of question 48. Richard evaluated the four questions from a student perspective. Shannon suggested that the scoring matrix be reworded for students to score classes as more or less effective including Lakota language, perspective, history etc. than their other classes. Some question was raised as to whether certain disciplines might have an advantage over others in this regard. Dawn asked each member present to check the four questions against the goals of the Oglala Lakota College Strategic Plan, Goal II, Objective A, specifically Strategies A1-A3. All members present agreed that the questions minimally met the goals.
(2:03-2:04) Dawn offered final words of encouragement to the group.
Meeting was adjourned at 2:05 pm
