They will have a meeting next month in January. The 40th anniversary will be coming up and will be discussed at that meeting.

Procedure for Substance Abuse

Students are recognized as adults and as such are expected to obey all local, state and federal laws as well as the policies of Oglala Lakota College (OLC). OLC students, who sell, distribute or are in possession and or under the influence of alcohol and or controlled substance on any OLC facility, or at a college sponsored activities, will be immediately reported to the appropriate enforcement agency. Students may be barred or expelled from classes if they do not abide by the Standards or Conduct while on OLC premises.

 

Step:

 

1.      The first time a student will be asked to leave by a staff member for any infraction of this policy.

2.      Anytime a student refuses to leave because of misconduct, law enforcement will be called.

3.      Student will be required to meet with his/her counselor or the college director prior to returning to classes.

4.      Documentation of the infraction and meeting with student prior to returning to classes will be placed in student file.

5.      The second offence may result in expulsion from OLC.
