                                      NEW BOARD MEMBER ORIENTATION (POLICY)

     The Board and the President shall assist each new member to understand the Board's functions, policies, and
     procedures and operation of the college system. Each new member shall:

     1. Be given selected material on the function of the Board and college system;

     2. Be invited to attend Board meetings and to participate in its discussions;

     3. Be invited to meet with the President and other administrative personnel to discuss services they perform
        for the Board;

     4. Be given a copy of the Board's policies and by-laws, administrative procedures; and,

     5. Visit a representative sampling of the district centers. Such individual visits shall be for orientation
        purposes only.
