DISTRICT BOARD AUTHORITY (POLICY)
Personnel Matters
1. Local centers and local boards are expected to interview job candidates and make recommendations to the
Board of Trustees. However, the Board of Trustees must give approval to finalize any new hiring, raises,
promotions or terminations.
2. The local board has authority to hire, and to terminate, (without involvement of the Trustees), workers
assigned by another agency to work in the district college center.
3. The district board may also recommend their full-time employees for three-year contracts as outlined in
the personnel handbook.
