                                   FULL-TIME FACULTY SCREENING/HIRING (POLICY)

     1.  The college hires faculty and other Instructional Affairs Division staff members according to recognized
         principles of personnel selection which includes the involvement of prospective colleagues and
         administrators, selection of candidates according to clearly stated qualifications and implementation
         of Indian preference in hiring.  The Board of Trustees retains the right to hire all personnel, but
         accepts the necessity to recognize the recommendations of college employees designated to advertise,
         screen, and recommend the hiring of candidate within the criteria specified above.

     2.  Lakota Studies Instructors shall be employed by OLC and given the ranking of instructor.  OLC shall
         ensure that relevant criteria are developed for filling those positions, and that the instructor
         positions are adequately defined for upholding academic rigor and excellence.
