                                 ADMISSION TO TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM (POLICY)

     Admission to the Teacher Education Program is required before students are permitted to take professional
     courses.  Please contact the Education Department staff at Piya Wiconi if you have questions after reading
     this section.

     Requirements for Admission to Teacher Education:

     1)  Completion of courses required for AA in Elementary Education (and pre-professional courses for ACED
         program), except when temporarily waived by the Department Chair of Education.
     2)  A grade of C or better in Speech Communications.
     3)  A grade of C or better in Foundations of Education.
     4)  A cumulative GPA of 2.60 or better.
     5)  Three (3) letters of recommendation.
     6)  Request and successfully complete an interview with the Education Department Committee.
