Policies

Attendance – A student may be dropped after 3 consecutive absences and will automatically be dropped after 5 total absences.  Partial attendance on a given day will be recorded on an hourly basis, that is, arriving an hour late or leaving an hour early will count for missing 1/3 of a class period.  We will have breaks about each hour and a half-hour lunch break between the lecture and lab.  Lecture will be held from 11 am until 1:30.  Lab will begin at 2 p.m.

Homework – Work assignments will consist of reading and being familiar with chapters in the textbook for each class period.  You may be asked to describe your interpretation or understanding of concepts presented in the textbook chapters for a given class period.

Grading –

Lecture - Four lecture tests will be given, the lowest grade will be dropped.  The other 3 tests will count for 75% of the final course grade.

Lab - Weekly quizzes will be given in lab at the beginning of the lab and covering material from the past week.  There will be 10 weekly quizzes.   The lowest weekly quiz grade will be dropped.  The lab grade will be made up of the 9 best weekly quizzes.  The lab grade will comprise 25% of the grade in the course.

A = 90 - 100

C = 70 - 79

D = 60 – 69
