I have been a hang glider pilot since 1982, flying sites from Mexico to Colorado.

                        Launching from Mt. Nebo, Arkansas

Mt. Nebo from about 5,000’ on a flight from Mt. Magazine

About 4700’ and heading for cloudbase over Paris, Arkansas

The best hang gliding site in South Dakota is in Wyoming!  Sand Turn, above Dayton, is a nice flying site in the Big Horns.

But fortunately the Black Hills Soaring Club recently moved its operations to Hot Springs and I was able to begin learning to fly a sail plane.  This is our club glider, a Blanik.

Conditions here are good for wave soaring during the fall and winter.  My instructor and I got to 11,200 MSL or 8,000 above ground level on 12/19/04.  This is a view of Hot Springs to the west.

I also enjoy playing golf.  The course here in Hot Springs is nice when you can get by the occasional foursome of turkeys.
