Goal: Wildlife conservation and management will define the scope and nature of the conservation science professions. The course will introduce students to major paradigms associated with both wildlife and fisheries. In addition the course will examine current issues and perspectives relevant to conservation.

Tentative date for the midterm examination is 14 October 1998. The final examination will be given on ?? December, 1998. The midterm examination will consist of 50 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each. The final examination will consist of 75 multiple choice questions worth 2 points each. The final examination will be partially comprehensive (25%) and partially over the material covered since the midterm examination (75%).
Grades will be based on a percentage of total points in the course and will follow a standard 90, 80, 70, 60 delineation for letter grades. A student may supplement his or her final average by completing an experience-based microtheme, in addition to the four required (see Experience-based icrotheme below). The amount of extra credit will be determined by the final grade on the microtheme, but will not exceed 5 additional percentage points.
Make-up exams will be offered to students with authorized college excuses. Students missing the mid-term examination will take the make-up within 10 class days of the date of the missed exam. Due dates for microthemes will be given at time of assignment. Microthemes turned in after the due date will incur a letter grade deduction for each missed day.
