Books and Media

Library Catalog Describes, indexes, and locates items owned by Oglala Lakota College, as well as 70+ other SD libraries, including every academic library in SD. This database was created cooperatively by 70+ South Dakota libraries that are members of the South Dakota Library Network (SDLN).

SDLN, along with the SD State Library, also provides access to several online databases. Of particular interest is WorldCat OCLC's catalog of books and other materials in libraries worldwide. You will be asked for your username and password to access this database. If you do not remember your Library Card barcode number and your password please call the OLC Library at 605-455-6069 for assistance.

Interlibrary Loan If you need a book that is not available in the OLC catalog you can try to locate it using WorldCat (one of the State Library databases).

Our children's section, the Wakanyeja Collection, is a family friendly collection that includes Fiction for ages 4-12, Everbody for read aloud stories, and Non-fiction for learn-all-about subjects for all ages. Young people ages 7-17 may apply for their own library card with their parent's signature. We host classes for story time and provide outreach services to all schools and Headstart Centers. Please call 455-6069 to schedule an appointment.

The library also maintains a Media Collection of more than 800 VHS, DVD, and audio CD format titles with a listening/viewing station as well as books on tape.
