Scholarships

Oglala Lakota College is proud to provide our students with access to a great wealth of scholarship opportunities to finance their studies in addition to financial aid and other outside funding opportunities.

Scholarship Checklist

  • Here are a few reminders in applying for all scholarship opportunities, In-house and Outside:
  • Make sure you have a declared major on file with OLC’s Registrar’s Office. If you are unsure what your current declared major is or to make sure you are taking classes pertaining to your current status sheet, you may reach out to your respective center or email the Registrar’s Office at Registrar@olc.edu.
  • Be sure that you complete your FAFSA for the current academic year, currently 2024-2025. If you are unsure whether or not you have completed your FAFSA, you may reach out to your respective center or email Financial Aid at financial-aid@olc.edu. • Be sure that you have a nice digital photo of yourself ready for upload as needed. No selfies, filters, obscene or inappropriate photos of any nature, as photos are shared by and with scholarship donors, and inappropriate photos could jeopardize your opportunities of being funded.
  • Tribal Affiliation Document (as applicable) scanned and ready for upload, as needed.
  • A short bio of your life and what you wish to accomplish in working towards your educational goals.
  • List of distinctions, honors, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, etc.
  • Be sure to check on your academic progress on a regular basis to avoid financial aid and academic suspension, as some scholarships may have minimum GPA requirements and Satisfactory Academic Progress Requirements.
Having these items readily available, completed, and updated on a regular basis will ensure that you are not rushing to meet scholarship deadlines and able to access as much funding as possible to assist with your educational needs.
